The Great Hall, The Castle, Castle Avenue, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8UJ
‘If music be the food of love, play on;’
Two costumed Tudor musicians, members of Courtlye Musick give pop-up performances in the Great Hall on Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd between 13.00 and 14.00.
As you take in the historic setting, savour the sounds of period instruments; the strident shawm and sackbut and the strong tone of the cornetto and curtal contrast with the serene sound of viols and recorders.
Relish the atmosphere, linger awhile and listen to secular music from Tudor times.
● Friday 20 September: 1300-1430
● Sunday 22 September: 1300-1430
No booking required.
