Weorod are a small, specialist group of Historical Interpreters focused on the Early Anglo-Saxon period – 450-680 or thereabouts. Based in Hampshire they have a passion for the local archaeology and history displaying many museum-quality replica artefacts from the local archaeological record. They demonstrate period crafts and discuss ancient technologies continuously throughout the day so there is always something going on.

Whether you have a passing interest in history, or are an Anglo-Saxon enthusiast there will be plenty for you to see and enjoy. Suitable for all members of the family, Weorod’s costumed interpreters will delight in showing you the highlights of the Anglo-Saxon age from fashion and textiles to weapons and war gear, with many other topics in between.

12.00 noon: 'Dressing the Warrior' display will look at the type of equipment and weaponry that would have been available to warriors during the 5th to 7th centuries based on the archaeological evidence and current academic research. This will involve the display of museum quality replicas of actual archaeological finds.
