The Theatre Royal Winchester are throwing open their doors for a FREE fun family-friendly Open Day on Saturday 21 September from 11am-4pm.
There will be free backstage tours throughout the day that will tell the history of the building and how the theatre works. The tours will take in the dressing rooms, stage and fly tower (not for the faint hearted!").
The theatre’s technical team will be on hand to ask any questions about how they make the magic happen on stage plus amaze visitors with some technical displays on the stage.
In the foyer there will be craft activities for younger visitors, some of theatre’s archives will also be on display plus there will be some impromptu performances.
The theatre’s team will be on hand to ask any questions visitors might have about theatre and the wider industry.
● Saturday 21 September: 1100-1600
The Open Day is from 11am-4pm. People can drop in whenever they like. There will be a series of tours throughout the day which will last approx. 30 minutes. Some of the tours will be pre-bookable but visitors can turn up on the day to enjoy other activities and join other tours. More details will be available from the website nearer the day.
Whilst the public areas in the theatre have full wheelchair access, some of the tours will go up to the flydeck which is not accessible to wheelchairs.
