Winchester City Museum, The Square, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9ES
Tales from Winchester's past: folktales, pieces of history with battles and such, squabbles between the people and the Corporation, and more folk-tales! Pick and mix and a lucky dip from a live storyteller! You can even request your favourite story!
So much has happened in Winchester that no one can hope to cover it all. These stories offer a flavour of the past, the way people thought and felt and acted in everyday life, and the way they behaved in specific historical situations, whether these were grand battles or committee squabbles – and at least some of the stories will be ones that you already know, because you heard them as a child.
● Saturday 21 September: A fresh story will start at 1pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm, 3.15pm.
Turn up and book a place on the day - please be aware that there are restricted numbers for each storytelling session.
The first floor is accessible to wheelchairs but there is a limit on space.
