Nestling in the heart of the Dever Valley is the Medieval Church of St. Michael & All Angel's, a delight to be discovered by all who love ecclesiastical treasures.
As part of Heritage Open Days 'People Power' theme, this year we are celebrating the life of local hero Enos Diddams. Diddams was the leader of the 'Radical and Musical Society and a key player in the agricultural riots of 1830. A shoemaker by trade, Diddams corresponded with the political journalist, William Cobbett, helping to bring to his attention the desperate needs of the rural poor. Amidst an exhibition of olde agricultural tools, and beautiful flower arrangements, you will learn more about the life of this extraordinary man and the wider story of the 'Swing Riots'.
Outside in the churchyard, there is all the fun of the Village Fete - in case of wet weather, this will be housed in the neighbouring barn.
