Chesil Theatre, Chesil Street, Winchester, SO23 0HU
Visitors to the Chesil Theatre never cease to be amazed by the hive of creativity they find behind its little red door! So if you have never visited us before make sure to come this year. Otherwise do come again and see what we have to offer moving forward.
The Theatre is the home of The Winchester Dramatic Society and occupies the former St Peter’s Church, which has been an important part of the History of the City of Winchester all the way back to 12th Century AD. You will be warmly welcomed by enthusiastic guides who will use film and displays to explore our story through the centuries and how the building has been adapted to become a popular theatre, whilst still maintaining and honouring its original character.
Coming up to date we shall offer details of our recent set builds, show you some of our costumes that are hand made on site and tell you all about our future extension plans, whilst you enjoy tea and home made cakes in the theatre bar.
