Historical Huzzahs and the Theatre Royal Winchester presents ‘Home Fires’.
On Sunday 22nd August there will be performances, tea, coffee and cake from 10:00 till 17:00 at Serle’s House on Southgate Street.
Home Fires tells the stories of local women and children that history forgot. Based on VE Day in a
Woman’s Voluntary Service Mobile Canteen, discover personal accounts, artIfacts and hands-on history for all ages. Find out how to be resourceful on rations with a 1940s housewife, make a house Home Front ready with an ARP Warden and what it would have been like to have been an evacuee from the booming Blitz.

We are an endurance performance, also with a short performance that will be repeated during the day. There will be hands on activities available. Four short performances at 11.30, 12.30, 2.30 and 3.30. Teas and cakes served (donations welcomed) and community conversations in between
