Join us for special historical tours exploring the fascinating stories of The Great Hall, Winchester Castle and the trials and tribulations of the Great Hall as a law court.
Visitors will join one of our enthusiastic tour guides with special access to Serle’s House and The Council Chamber buildings not usually open to the public.
Find out about some extraordinary women through the fascinating history of Winchester Castle and some colourful characters of the Great Hall’s past.
Tours will be running daily at 11:00 and 15:00 departing from The Great Hall Welcome Desk. Places are limited on our historical tours so please book a place to avoid disappointment.
In addition to the tours there will also be children's activities taking place in the Great Hall, musical and theatrical performances, an Extraordinary Women exhibition and at the weekend workshops and talks in the Grand Jury Room. Please see separate entries for more details.

From the High Street head towards the Westgate archway and turn left up the cobbled Castle Avenue towards The Great Hall.
