Behind the Scenes at Hampshire Record Office

A short guided tour around Hampshire Record Office, including a visit to conservation and other areas not normally open to the public. And as part of Extraordinary Women there will also be a small exhibition about Hampshire women.

Go behind the scenes at Hampshire Record Office and discover the work which takes place to preserve Hampshire’s documentary heritage. See how we preserve and repair damaged documents in our conservation department and have a glimpse of our climate-controlled strongrooms. There will also be a chance to view a small display of documents about Hampshire’s extraordinary women, including Jane Austen, Florence Nightingale and others.

Access Information:
Disable parking needs to be booked in advance as there are only 2 spaces The tour will include going up several flights of stairs, although there is a life which can be used. Unfortunately we can only accommodate two individuals with mobility issues on each tour.

Additional Information:
Max 15 people per tour/session. Approx 30 to 45 minutes.
