The Pilgrim's Hall, Pilgrims School, 3 The Close, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9LT
The award winning Blue Apple Theatre company bring to life some of the local voices you will not have heard before – some historically accurate & some imagined. These fragments will lift the lid on parts of the city you may not have known of before. PRE-BOOKING RECOMMENDED
If we assemble enough fragments in one place, can they begin to tell a story? If those fragments are all from or inspired by one place can they tell the story of a city?
Blue Apple’s 2017-18 Seasons have focussed on the place the nature of ‘home’; why have people come here, why do they stay, why do they leave? From their two most recent shows they are selecting some moments which help us look at Winchester’s history in a new way. With their trademark wit, charm and joie de vivre Blue Apple’s performers will shine a light on parts of the city which may otherwise go untold.
Using drama, dance, film and puppetry, Blue Apple have been entertaining Winchester since 2005. Over that time they have become an established and cherished part of the city’s cultural life. As well as telling new and old tales to audiences far and wide, they have addressed serious issues in their work to contribute to the national debate about inclusion and diversity.
Come to the Pilgrim’s Hall and leave your preconceptions by the very old and heritage-laden door.
