The Stable, 31B The Square, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9EX
Cider has a long and fascinating history in the UK, which is probably why this event is already FULLY BOOKED!
However we do have another HODs event at The Stable for you, it takes place on the Thursday evening. Details here.
The Saturday talk and tasting consists of a leisurely stroll through the history of cider, it’s origins and transformation through the years, into the growing and ever changing market, which it is now flourishing in. We will take time to look at how to taste cider and what to look out for (and what to avoid!). We will look at the differences between the cider producing areas of the UK and what this means to cider makers, including our own local Hampshire cider producers. Our Cider Master will talk about the process of cider making and it’s evolution, the different methods producing different styles and how anyone can make and blend their own ciders, even in their own homes.
To accompany the cider tasters on offer, we provide dishes to highlight food pairings and might just chuck in a few tasty surprises along the way!
