The Watercress Quartet

Winchester City Mill, Bridge Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9BH

The Watercress Quartet will be performing music for string quartet at the City Mill. Come and hear them play classical pieces and works by Cole Porter and Scott Joplin in this beautiful historic setting.

The Watercress Quartet is a group of friends who enjoy playing quartets together. We started in 2008, rehearsing close to the local watercress beds. We have always done the occasional charity event, in a wide variety of places including the Cathedral’s Dean Garnier Garden, for the Winchester Portrait Exhibition in the Great Hall and for a celebrity Christmas concert in the Cathedral.

On Sunday 16th we will be performing at Winchester City Mill especially for Heritage Open Days. Winchester City Mill is the oldest working watermill in the UK. See how this fully restored working watermill produces stoneground wholemeal flour using the power of the River Itchen on both Saturday and Sunday, 11am-4pm. Also, listen to tales told by storyteller Mike Rogers on Saturday 15th.
