Meadows adjacent to, St. Cross Hospital, St. Cross Road, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9SD
Join us on one of our guided walks (10am or 2pm) to find out about the wildlife that lives in these meadows and to learn about how The Wildlife Trust manage this important habitat. You’ll learn about wetland plants, the insects that rely on these plants and you may even be lucky enough to see signs of otter. There will also be children’s activities in the meadows throughout the day.
● Sunday 22 September: Max 20 people per tour/session. 1hr tours at 10am and 2pm.
Pre-booking: Is required for tours, but you can just turn up for children's activities and the information stall. Box offices open 7th August.
Tour - We will be walking across the meadows which are uneven with long grass and may be wet in places. Walking boots would be advisable. We may also cross over a stile. Visitors could choose to stay on the path but would miss a part of the walk in that case. Activities - this is an outdoor event in the meadows so please wear appropriate footwear / clothing.
Please note the Hospital of St Cross is hosting their Heritage open day on Thursday 19th. It is possible to visit the hospital grounds from 1pm on Sunday afternoon but there is a charge. The tearooms do not open on Sunday until 2:30pm.
