Hattingley Valley Talk and Wine Tasting

Winchester City Museum, The Square, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9ES

Hattingley Valley is a family owned business located in Hampshire specialising in premium English sparkling wines. Simon Robinson planted the first vineyard in 2008 with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; and a modern, eco-friendly winery in Wield was completed in 2010 in time for their first harvest.

We use the traditional method for making our wines. A key element of our style is the subtle use of oak barrels to ferment a small proportion of the wines each year, as well as ageing on lees in stainless steel tanks. This helps to soften the wines before they go into bottles for the second fermentation. Our talented wine making team is led by Emma Rice who trained at Plumpton College. Emma has won the prestigious title of Winemaker of the Year in both 2014 and 2016.

Since launching its first release in August 2013, Hattingley Valley has been recognised in competitions across the globe and developed into one of the most respected producers of English sparkling wines in the country. Hattingley has been awarded three ‘World Champion’ trophies for their wines and at this unique tasting you will be able to learn about their story and taste the wines.
