Join us for this fascinating talk and tour of Hampshire’s ceramic collections stores at Chilcomb House.
This is a unique chance to peek behind-the-scenes and meet the team who manage the collections cared for by Hampshire Cultural Trust.
Since 2014, the Hampshire Cultural Trust has been managing the museums services and collections owned by Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council. Heritage Open Days provide the ideal opportunity for members of the public to go behind the scenes and see first-hand the invaluable work the Trust does with both the Hampshire’s and Winchester’s collections.
Plenty of parking available on site.
There are two identical sessions available on the day, one starting at 2pm and one at 2.30pm. Max 10 people per session, pre-booking is essential. Light refreshments will be served.
Tuesday 17 September: Two 90 minute tours, commencing 1400 & 1430
This event is not suitable for those under 5 years. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
There is good access to the meeting room. However, the adjacent stores are not designed for public access. Visitors to the stores will need to be able to navigate uneven floors, narrow spaces and possible trip hazards.
Access to site is via Chilcomb Lane off Bar End Road. Do not park on Chilcomb Lane, HOD parking signposted on main site at the end of the lane. Meet in reception, clearly signposted.
