Tea and scandal with Pedlars and Petticoats

  • Winchester City Mill Bridge Street Winchester Hampshire (map)

Winchester City Mill - National Trust, Bridge Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9BH

Pedlars and Petticoats present their new theatrical interlude “Tea and Scandal”. A light hearted, imagined conversation over tea between Jane Austen’s sister, Cassandra and friend Martha Lloyd. Gossip, recipes, poetry and extracts from letters shared. Martha was called an “experimental housekeeper” by Jane and collected Austen family recipes in a book now on display at Jane Austen’s house in Chawton. The book was a way of ladies swapping and sharing favourite recipes so please bring and share with us your family favourites.
