Behind the Business Films

Continuing our series, this short film produced by Adrienne Photography takes a closer look at the history and people behind three Winchester businesses that have stood the test of time.

An unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Winchester was once an important Roman centre that later became the Anglo-Saxon capital of Wessex under King Alfred the Great. Today, the city is best known for its heritage sites including the eleventh-century Cathedral, Winchester College, the Great Hall and the resting place of author Jane Austen. Attracting over four million visitors to the city each year, it is also popular for its bustling farmers’ market and its characterful shopping streets.

In this short film, we explore the history behind some of Winchester's oldest running businesses including - Kingsgate Books & Prints, Hayward Guitars, and The Colour Factory.

The films will be available here and on our YouTube channel during the festival

The films have been sponsored by Winchester BID.
