The Staunton Country Park Heritage Hub have delved into the historic properties that have left their legacy on Staunton’s vast estate. Starting from 1802 all the way to the present day.
This year’s exhibition has been put together by the Staunton Park Heritage Hub about the two historic properties that sat as part of the Staunton estate: the older house purchased by William Garrett in 1802 and modified by Sir George Staunton, and the mansion built by William Henry Stone in 1860. There is also further research by a local school into the houses and modern-day Leigh Park from 1948 to the present day.
There will be guided walks on the 16th & 20th September, on the Historic Buildings of Leigh Park and the Plants and Gardens of the Historic Estate (free but must be pre-booked). Exhibition will be open to the public every day 10am - 4pm from Friday 12th September - Sunday 21st September, with stewards on Saturdays and Sundays.
Guided walks are available to book from the Staunton Country Park website.
