Haylingalia Exhibition

  • Hollow Lane, Hayling Island, Hampshire, PO11 9EY (map)

Hayling Island Memorabilia, Souvenirs, historical postcards and Goss style chinaware has always been popular. It is also highly collectible. A fine collection of such materials can be seen this autumn at a very special exhibition, entitles, Haylingalia (assorted stuff to do with Hayling Island) to be held in the South Hayling United Reformed Church all weekend.

Hayling Island has been a holiday destination ever since 1825 when William Padwick, Lord of the Manor of Hayling, decided that his island was going to be the New Brighton. Almost since that period, visitors to the island have selected postcards to send home telling people how much they have enjoyed the place, and bought souvenirs to carry home as mementoes of a wonderful time. Such items are highly collectible. Now an avid collector wishes to share his collection with the people of the island.
