'Botanical Metamorphosis' in the Battlements

  • Round Tower, Point Barracks, Broad Street, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO1 2FS (map)

Join local artists and florists for the immersive exhibition 'Botanical Metamorphosis' within the historic, Grade I listed Round Tower, situated in the heart of Old Portsmouth.

'Botanical Metamorphosis' is a collaborative exhibition between Sentimental Castings, Orlaya Floryn Blooms, Luvshifting Flowers, and Southsea Paper Blooms. Join these local artists and florists in the historic setting of the Round Tower, on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September, as they transform the space into an immersive, artistic exploration of the lifecycle of botanicals. 'Botanical Metamorphosis' reimagines nature through living, preserved & crafted botanicals. A multi-medium floral exhibition, celebrating the positive and influential power of nature.

Usually closed to the public, the Grade I listed Round Tower offers the perfect space to explore the juxtaposition of natural and man-made architectural structures. The Tower is a scheduled monument, originally constructed in wood c.1418-1426 at the behest of Henry V, before being reconstructed in stone in the 1490s. The Round Tower and surviving surrounding Point Battery casemates now make up the Hotwalls Studios, an artistic hub of 13 studio spaces, home to a range of local artists and artisans.

We welcome you as we transform the Tower into an inspiring and joyous space full of botanical interpretations.
