Alton’s first Heritage Day. Part of the national ‘Heritage Open Days’ with a focus on local architecture and brewing history.
Held in the iconic and heritage Alton Assembly Rooms (1880) and part of 'England's largest festival of history and culture', meet a host of local groups, clubs, businesses and societies to find out more about their activities in the town and ‘try out new experiences’. Whilst the national theme this year is Architecture, we also plan to feature the history of our local brewing industry as well.
Celebrating and preserving Alton's rich and varied history, whilst publicising future heritage opportunities and the new direction of the Centre for Health, Wellbeing and Culture under the recent stewardship of Dementia-friendly Alton.
Do join us between 10am and 3pm, refreshments will be available, courtesy of Charity Community Cafe hosted by Dementia-friendly Alton.
