Accessible Events Search

Accessibility information is provided by individual venues and organisers wherever possible. As many of Winchester’s historic buildings have unique access considerations, we recommend checking event details carefully before visiting. Search the event directory for Winchester below, and use the additional filters to help you plan your visit.

Safe and Support Spaces

If you need assistance, somewhere quieter to pause, or help during your visit, support is available at several locations across the city centre. If you are attending an event and require help, please speak to a member of the site team.

Festival Hub/Information Point

The Festival Hub is the main visitor support point during Winchester Heritage Open Days.

Visitors can:

  • Ask for directions and accessibility information

  • Speak with festival volunteers

  • Take a short break from busy areas

  • Access printed maps and festival guides

  • Find nearby facilities

Festival volunteer will be happy to help visitors wherever possible.

The Festival Hub will be available between 10am and 4pm across both weekends, and can be found in The Brooks Shopping Centre.

Visitor Information Centre

The Winchester Visitor Information Centre offers an additional staffed location within the city centre where visitors can:

  • Ask for local guidance

  • Access city information

  • Find quieter indoor space

  • Locate public facilities nearby

The Visitor Information Centre is also one of the recommended accessible drop off locations within the city centre.

Visiting with Families

Winchester Heritage Open Days welcomes families of all ages, with a range of activities, walks and open spaces across the festival programme.

Baby Changing & Facilities

Baby changing facilities are available at several locations across Winchester city centre, including:

  • The Arc: Located on Jewry Street, the centre offers lift access, wide corridors, and baby changing spaces

  • Abbey Gardens

  • Market Lane/St Maurice’s Covert: Public toilets located off the High Street, open daily from 08:10 to 20:30, featuring attended baby changing facilities cleaned continuously throughout the day.

  • Winchester Cathedral: Baby changing facilities are located inside the café and the Fleury building.

  • Theatre Royal Winchester: Changing facilities are located on the ground floor near the Box Office and in the Atrium

Accessible Parking

Most Winchester city centre car parks include designated Blue Badge parking spaces. Blue Badge holders may park free of charge in most council operated pay and display car parks, subject to displayed conditions and time limits. Please check signage as there are some exceptions and charges will still apply.

  • Drop-off points can be located on The Broadway, which has flat access to the High Street and many venues.

  • Best Central Options:

    • Colebrook Street Car Park (closest to Cathedral)

    • Middle Brook Street Car Park (large central option)

    • Jewry Street Car Park (best for access to The Arc and the upper city)

  • Winchester’s Shopmobility service hires scooters or wheelchairs for a small charge. It is located on the upper parking level of the Brooks Car Park. These must be booked in advance by telephoning 01962 842 626.
